I am seeking performers who can bring both classical nuance and contemporary realism to the screen.
Location Requirement: Must be based/able to travel within 100 miles of Salisbury, Wiltshire
Initial Commitment: Filming of selected scenes for a crowdfunding campaign to secure full production funding. These scenes will be used for promotional purposes only.
Age: 25–40
Ethnicity: Any
Description: A woman navigating the psychological effects of an abusive relationship. Must be able to portray emotional depth, vulnerability, and resilience. Strong classical delivery with subtle on-screen realism required.
Alice thought she had found her perfect partner in Edmund, "Love sought, is good; but given unsought is better." But behind the mask of love hides the green-eyed monster "O beware, it doth mock the meat it feeds on.." Her relationship with Edmund turns from love to jealousy then to abuse, first verbal then finally to violence.
How can she escape from this abusive relationship, who can she turn to and what measures can she take to stop it?
Age: 25–40
Ethnicity: Any
Description: Close friend of Alice who becomes both witness and mirror to the central character’s inner turmoil. Grounded, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent.
She has watched her friend fall victim to the abuse and feels helpless that she cannot persuade Alice to leave him, "He is little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast." After Alice is victim of a vicious attack, Portia is compelled to get her friend to leave him by any means possible, "Think therefore on revenge and cease to weep. Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt."
