Visualizing the tone of the film

A major element in filmmaking is the creation of a mood board.

This is a visual tool that shows the overall look and feel of the film.

Central to this, is to gather together images, colours and textures that help to define the aesthetic, tone and style of the film.

THE LOVE AFFAIR BEGINS

Colour Palette

The opening scenes of the film conveys the hope that Alice has found someone who loves her and who she feels she can have a loving relationship with.

Colours: Mixed, Saturated, Green, Cyan, Blue, White

These warm tones will highlight the optimism she feels.

EXT Park - Day: The opening scenes are in a park followed by a city street, places where there is a feeling of safety.

THE HONEYMOON IS OVER

INT Restaurant - Early Evening: Alice & Edmund enjoy an evening out, but the mood changes when a man approaches and talks to Alice.
